WE’RE CELEBRATING 20 YEARS!
Limestone is by definition a rock that contains at least 50% calcium carbonate in the form of calcite by weight. All limestones contain at least a few percent of other materials. These can be small particles of quartz, feldspar, or clay minerals delivered to the site by streams, currents and wave action. Particles of chert, pyrite, siderite, and other minerals can form in the limestone by chemical processes.
Dimension Stone: Our Limestone is split into stones of specific dimensions for use in construction and in architecture. It is used for facing stone, floors, Steps, and many other purposes.
At J & A Gately, we use Two Guillotines to Split the Limestone into the customer specification under the watchful eye of our experienced operators, ensuring not only precision but exposing the natural beauty of this stone. A Primary Guillotine is used to Split the larger rocks and a Secondary Guillotine to shape the rocks into useable Stones for our customers.
