WE’RE CELEBRATING 20 YEARS!
Roscommon is steeped in a history of having very many ancient buildings built from local Limestone and Sandstone, particularly Pale Grey, Natural Brown Limestone and Yellow Sandstone.
The most popular historic sites include Roscommon Castle and Roscommon Abbey very nearby and the very much-visited Boyle Abbey, which was a Cistercian Abbey, built between 1160 and 1220 of these local stones from the Carboniferous age.
